I think some do not start out like this, but when they find the audience rejects their effort to simply be rational and factual, they become cynical and contemptuous of their own audience, or people in general. "This is what you want? Fine! I don't fucking care anymore. I'll shovel you the BS you deserve and laugh as the whole shit show burns down."
